President Obama is speaking…

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

The President has just said, “it’s time.”

Yesterday saw the modification of the text on Susan’s Front Page, and the restoration of the monthly archive links, in preparation for the continuation of this site.

At this point in time, I have no illusion that anyone, out there, is even reading this blog.  Admittedly there hasn’t been a lot of activity, nor has there been any incentive to read these words.  For example, all one has to do is to listen to NPR and hear about this blog and that blog.  Everyone mentioned on NPR has some noble purpose, some benefit to society.   Reading about the experiences of someone whose current goal in life is to move to The Villages probably isn’t that high on anyone’s agenda…so, yes, “it is time.”

But, not tonight.  Tonight the plan is to finish listening to the President.  And, to give some thought to a purpose for this site.  Something worthwhile and edifying.

As always, stay tuned.

Ramblings

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

When you consciously realize that you are focusing on the less than pleasant, the unhappy, or the worries of the day, make an attempt to remember to ALSO consciously choose to focus on the positive, happy and blessings. There will always be both ends of the spectrum.

If you can’t get beyond the FEELINGS, and the tears are streaming, find a beneficial CD that you’ve listened to in the past and listen to it. I find LOVING WHAT IS cd’s to be helpful.

One way to get past the feelings of loss is to remember that the object you are missing IS NOT TOTALLY LOST. Although the memories may make you cry or feel sad, you still have the memory. If you choose to look at the memory as a positive, as something you can evoke at will, the object (person, animal, etc) is never lost.

more later, have to get back to work now! :)
